Demand Manager

The Demand Manager is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products. The Demand Manager creates and maintains forecast models for customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from Sales, Marketing, and other sources (i.e.: syndicated data or customer specific applications). The Demand Manager is the integration point for the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SI&OP process).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results; continuously improve techniques
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities to reconcile variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated assumptions; lead monthly SI&OP Demand reviews
  • Interact with Sales, Marketing, and customers to understand demand drivers; pull and analyze customer data as available
  • Provide input to the planning organization in developing stocking strategies
  • Coordinate and communicate customer plans with the planning organization
  • Prepare, report, and communicate forecast measurements
  • Escalate demand-supply imbalances, production constraints and impacts to customer requirements
  • Support ad-hoc analytics and reporting
  • SI&OP project leader

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree (Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field); MBA preferred
  • 5+ years progressively responsible experience in the area of Supply Chain or Analytics
  • Or any combination of experience and eductation that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks
  • APICS or other forecasting training/certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
  • Understanding of Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain processes and issues
  • Strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas, and levels of business affecting the forecast process
  • Good facilitation skills; ability to lead cross functionally
  • Good communication and team building skills
  • Detail oriented, extreme accuracy
  • Extensive spreadsheet analysis and strong mathematical skills; experience using business intelligence or data mining tools
  • Knowledge of planning systems (MRP/ERP/DRP)
