The Inventory Control Manager develops implements, maintains and integrates inventory materials and production regarding perpetual inventory and inventory systems reporting and accuracy. This includes receiving materials, cycle counts, production data entry, reconciliation and reporting. Works with Purchasing, Scheduling and Operations to ensure that raw materials, packaging and supplies are on hand to satisfy the needs of the production schedule, on hand perpetual inventory is accurate and movement is controlled and secure.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of system integration and accuracy of perpetual inventory. This includes, but is not limited to; receiving, production completions and issues, comparing perpetual inventory quantities to physical counts, researching and posting inventory adjustments and developing and suggesting methods of implementing inventory control procedures that promote timely reporting, inventory accuracy and inventory loss reductions.
- Manages material’s warehouse personnel.
- Develop, implement and coordinate methods and practices for improving inventory accuracy, including securing raw materials and finished goods, reporting, periodic cycle counts, etc.
- Coordinate periodical physical counts and count reconciliations for all materials and finished goods.
- Work directly with Purchasing, Scheduling and Production at all locations to ensure the efficient availability of raw materials, bulk ingredients and supplies, using the computer-based MRP system to achieve operational objectives for scheduled reliability and inventory performance. Maintains computer system data integrity as it relates to stock or work-in-process inventories.
- Handle or oversees production daily reconciliations.
- Identify specific supply-chain process improvements needed to achieve operational objectives. Works with Production Manager and Material Handling to develop action plans to remedy and implement inventory control improvements.
- Work directly with Co-pack Customer Managers or customers regarding consigned goods inventory and inventory reporting.
- Ensure food safety and quality protocols are followed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, maintain professional, positive attitude at all times.
- Self directed with ability to work effectively under pressure and stress.
- Strong supervisory, organizational, prioritization skills
- Computer literate including Microsoft office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with solid basic math skills
- Supervisory, mentoring, and problem analysis skills
- Teambuilding, training, presentation, and teaching skills
- Physical activities including standing, walking, stopping, talking, reaching, climbing, handling and hearing.
