Support stores through assortment and inventory management maximizing sales, margins and product turnover. Develops and manages retail store allocation plans.
Responsibilities:
- Development of assortment plans by store, distribution of product according to plan and monitoring productivity of inventory according to sales, gross margin and turnover goals.
- Responsible for overall inventory levels for each store, including new store openings and special events. Must maintain balance by departments according to plan or sales trends down to style level.
- Ability to analyze sales to stock ratios to ensure proper distribution and reorder of product.
- Responsible for timely and balanced receipt flows into stores.
- Communicate with store management regarding product needs, future on order, delivery dates.
- Communicate with buyers regarding bulk levels to ensure liquidation of product according to plans. Assist buyers in identifying product opportunities and liabilities.
- Communicate with the Customer Operations to evaluate and prioritize movement of merchandise from DC to the stores.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, or related preferred and three to five years experience in retail with a focus on managing inventory and the ordering process OR equivalent.
- Possess knowledge of merchandising, marketing and sales principles.
- Strong analytical and financial skills and full understanding of retail math.
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of retail planning.
- Knowledge of retail allocation.
- Knowledge of floor layouts/visuals.
- Strong market awareness.
- Build creative solutions and plans that meet objectives and maximize impact.
- Good organizational skills, ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Mental ability to conduct interpersonal interactions with other company personnel, solve-problems, make decisions independently, and work effectively under pressure.
- Physical ability to use telephone, computer hardware/software including keyboard, type, sit for extended periods of time, and occasionally lift/carry up to 20 pounds.
