Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.
Responsibilities:
- Second level manager position responsible for ~40 person supply chain management team within Manufacturing group
- Ensures team objectives and deliverables are met, including those related to cost, timeliness and quality.
- Manages a team of Oracle employees, with authority to hire, fire, performance manage, discipline and make recommendations with respect to pay and recognition. Team may be global in its makeup and scope.
- Manages the budget of the work group (authorizes and approves expenses, overtime etc.)
- Assures compliance to Oracle policies and applicable regulations as they pertain to the work group
- May manage a team that develops and communicates high level supply plans that conveys Oracle's liability to suppliers
- May manage a team the manages supplier delivery performance to purchase orders
- May manage a team that drives supply chain services, inventory control, critical parts availability, material handling, import-export compliance, shipment of products and third-party warehousing
- May manage a team that monitors and drives prompt scheduling and/or shipping of sales orders for an assigned subset of Oracle’s order backlog
- May lead a team that negotiates master supply agreements, contract amendments and product award letters with suppliers
- Negotiates product cost reductions periodically with suppliers that may include online bidding events and conventional negotiation
- Effectively influences both horizontally and vertically in ambiguous or dynamic environments
- May lead cross functional teams on product transitions and/or crisis management on material constraints.
- May interface with new product introduction teams and value engineering groups
- Identifies and implements process improvements to improve worker efficiency, reduce scrap costs, and improve product delivery predictability.
Requirements:
- 10+ years relevant work experience; to include at least 5 years of management
- Materials management experience in a High Tech company.
- Materials management experience with a low volume, high mix experience product.
- Materials management with a PCB-based product. PCB = printed circuit board
- Materials experience (customer order execution primarily, purchasing and supply management are secondary)
- Materials experience in a Fortune 500 company.
- 2nd level management experience a must
- Technical degree or Supply Chain Management degree
- Person should be proven director-ready or capable of moving into a future director role
