Mgr Planning & Procurement

- Manage the procurement and planning functions which include leading and directing the activities of the Planning and Procurement teams to ensure that plant goals and objectives are met.
- Give strategic direction in these areas to drive TDC, customer service, and other corporate initiatives. Overall accountability for working capital (raw materials and finished goods), finite scheduling continuous improvement and planning coordination with Campbell’s World Headquarters planning team.
- Responsible for the development and management of the Procurement team (Inventory Management, Vendor Management, RFQ process, Indirect and Direct Purchasing and Logistics).
Responsibilities:
- Lead and strategically direct the team that creates the weekly and daily production schedules in support of the business, seeking input to the plan and making modifications to the process or output as necessary to achieve continuous improvement in StockPot’s planning efforts
- Coordinate with Campbell’s World Headquarters and act as the Everett lead for all short, mid and long term capacity planning efforts for the business to include proactive recommendations on solutions/alternatives and providing all justifications required to support StockPot’s continuous growth
- Actively participate in the development and ongoing management of an integrated Sales and Operations Planning process with input from key stakeholders that facilitates high demand forecast accuracy, proactive Supply Chain and Operations and labor planning and optimizes the balance between cost efficiency and service
- Lead all inventory management and planning tasks and initiatives to optimize working capital, reductions in finished goods loss, product freshness/age and product supply
- Through the development and use of a sourcing model, set sourcing plans that optimize product supply, as well as fully integrated Supply Chain financial goals and opportunities including cost considerations for transportation, warehousing/storage and manufactured vs. purchased Cost of Product Sold
- Lead the annual planning efforts to create a financial plan for product supply, raw material standards and working capital targets. Actively track and manage to these commitments on a monthly basis throughout the year.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory levels as well as required services. Support balance sheet financial goals such as AP days and non-ingredient/packaging inventory levels with service and support goals of earning customer loyalty and maintaining schedule adherence. Evaluate trends, projections, lead times, and other available tools (such as history) to determine appropriate levels of service and supplies. Work in conjunction with other Department Managers to maximize opportunities.
- Develop and maintain KPI’s for logistics planning and forecasting. Monitor and compare trends against key driver projections. Design and integrate performance metric and continuous improvement strategies to attain ‘best in class’ logistics network performance.
- Drive a culture of high performance within the Planning and Procurement team to include the development of growth and succession plans, coaching/mentoring opportunities, building a high performing team.
- Identify, develop, report and analyze the Planning and Procurement metrics that optimize StockPot’s Customer Loyalty, productivity, financial and safety goals, utilizing benchmarking and best practices around the industry and from within the CSC organization
- Support and lead special projects as necessary
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Business and 8-10 years of planning and procurement experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience with Manugistics, SAP, customer collaboration and robust Sales and Operations Planning processes strongly desired
- Computer skills - Extensive knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) and Lotus Notes or an e-mail system; ability to learn in-house inventory system (BPCS or SAP).
