Senior Buyer/Supervisor

Our client company, a division of a multi-billion dollar manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Buyer/Supervisor.

This individual will assume some buying responsibilities in the near term and then take over some leadership responsibilities of other buyers as the project completes transition to Portland.

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree (BS or BA); Preferably in Engineering Discipline
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of Purchasing experience in a JIT/VMI manufacturing environment (ideal would be experience with machining, castings and electromechanical components)
  • Need to be knowledgeable in Lean manufacturing principles and methodologies (Kanban, Kaizen, etc.)
  • DEMONSTRATED HISTORY OF ACHIEVEMENTS AND QUANTIFIABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS
    Looking for resumes showing achievements (i.e. not only cost savings, but how you got there), goal driven, metric driven (ex. reduced 3,600 supplier list by 13% by doing X, Y & Z).
  • Strong Project Leadership experience highly desired
  • Ability to analyze and organize facts to effectively give project status reports
  • Desire to assume supervisory responsibilities in the near future
