A-dec, Inc., is one of the largest manufacturers of dental equipment components, delivery systems, chairs, and furniture in the world. A-dec is searching for a highly qualified candidate to join our Materials Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and oversight for all activities necessary in the acquisition of materials and commodities to support company operations. Assures that established policies and procedures are being followed. Negotiates and reviews contracts and agreements with suppliers. Monitors market conditions and trends of materials and merchandise purchased by the company.
  • Manages departmental staff and budget. Manages and coordinates activities of buyers and support staff engaged in the planning, acquisition and distribution of materials to support operations, production requirements and product development. Assists with work prioritization. Conducts annual performance appraisals. Develops training and development plans for staff.
  • Establishes and maintains good business relationships with suppliers. Manages and monitors supplier performance and quality control activities. Develops and directs plans for improving supplier performance. Manages and provides oversight of supplier qualification and selection.
  • Develops and implements sourcing strategies and methodologies to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service objectives.
  • Manages department projects. Acts as a key process owner and partners with other internal departments to support or drive business activities.
  • Develops and directs plans for continuous operational improvement within the department.

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years experience in procurement including 3-5 years of leadership experience within the field. Demonstrated ability/experience to successfully direct and lead others.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and global sourcing strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to a wide variety of organizational members.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field, preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
