Responsible for making Ruff Wear’s supply chain a competitive advantage through a “customer centric” systematic approach of managing the information and materials flow of our distribution channel from supplier to the customer. The Director Of Supply Chain responsibilities include Logistics, Demand, and Supply Management. The Director of Supply Chain will a change agent for continuous process improvement and will facilitate the transformation of Ruff Wear to a Lean culture.

Location: Bend, Oregon

Responsibilities:

  • Actively involved in communicating and supporting company and department strategy to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators for all supply chain initiatives based on quality, innovation, time, costs, and ROI.
  • Oversee the performance, training, and development of all department personnel based on Ruff Wear’s core competencies.
  • Support and facilitate success by creating cross-department collaborative partnerships.
  • Ensure department goals and initiatives are met on time by assigning workloads, leading meetings, and managing tasks.
  • Continuous improvement of the supplier management process with the objective of increasing customer value and reducing lead-time.
  • Evaluate and aid in the development and improvement of product quality and quality assurance.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative with our manufacturing partners.
  • Oversee transportation, storage, and warehousing activities.
  • Plan, implement, and control the efficient, effective flow and storage of products and material.
  • Define and monitor KPI’s centered on exceeding customer satisfaction and eliminating waste.
  • Manage negotiations and pricing with vendors.
  • Oversee the functions of global forecasting and procurement.
  • Define and evaluate metrics for allocating the supply chain budget.
  • Monitor and adjust spending based on performance results.
  • Ensure all supply chain initiatives are operating within their prescribed budget.
  • Address any ERP issues that affect supply chain workflow and communicate issues to President.
  • Serve as company specialist in safety by developing and carrying out all safety protocols.
  • Comply with company policies and support company activities.
  • Ruff Wear is a small company. Assist in all other areas when possible, as requested.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years in Lean process improvement experience in a manufacturing or supply chain management.
  • Working knowledge of Process Improvement methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, PDCA, Six Sigma, etc.
