Johnstone Supply, a leading locally-owned HVAC/R wholesale distribution company is seeking a career-minded individual to join our team. We are a member of the Johnstone Supply Co-op, operating 13 locations in three states, headquartered in Tigard, Oregon.

This position reports directly to the Director of Purchasing. The position analyzes, manages and schedules vendor returns of overstock and guaranteed buy-back conditions; identifies obsolete products and manages liquidation programs with stores, vendors, and liquidators. Ensures enterprise-wide inventory communication for end-of-season inventory analysis and implementation of exit strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs annual overstock analysis and end of season overstock analysis
  • Performs analysis to track new product activity
  • Coordinates the monthly Rotational Buyback (ROPO) Program for Johnstone Members to maximize liquidation of stores' overstock via DC Buybacks and/or vendor buybacks.
  • Works to streamline processes; continually monitors processes for effectiveness

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, emphasis in supply chain preferred
  • Three or more years of purchasing, merchandising, or inventory management experience
  • Certified Purchasing Manager Certificate, APICS certification, and MIS experience is desired
  • Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. This job is the fully qualified career-oriented journey-level position.

  • Ability to complete work with a minimum of supervision
