This position is a senior supply chain position involved in most aspects of the supply chain including CM relationship management, new product introductions, initial and ongoing price negotiations, planning and forecasting, inventory management, market conditions, metrics against objectives for volumes, sales, inventory levels, and contract manufacturers performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Drives functional team supplier selection process based on overall capabilities matched against InFocus strategic business objectives.
  • Manages ongoing supplier relationship.
  • Analyzes, recommends, and implements cost reduction/avoidance plans through value analysis plans.
  • Drives contract negotiations with officers or representatives of supplier companies.
  • Oversees activities related to procurement of materials, parts, components, and equipment.
  • Directs the activities of buyers and expediters to accomplish company objectives.
  • Reviews and approves purchases up to a specified dollar amount.
  • Develops policies and procedures pertaining to execution of procurement activities.
  • Monitors the cost, schedule and performance aspects of subcontracts.
  • Coordinates purchasing activities with sales operations, product marketing, and finance to maintain planned inventory levels.
  • Plans and forecasts for future merchandise buys based on historical buys, reoccurring buys and current inventory levels.
  • Responsible for reviewing stock to sales ratios, responding to changing sales trends, and ensuring plan sales, plan markups, and plan markdowns are achieved by departments.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains an inventory strategy that supports InFocus supply chain.

Requirements:

  • 6 or more years experience working with manufacturing, OEM in China, and supply chain.
  • BS/BA in business or engineering.
  • Requires the ability to work in an individual or team environment with peers and superiors.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to motivate and promote teamwork.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to exercise good judgment, initiative and tact working with employees, management and business partners.
  • Ability to maintain extensive and effective communications with internal and external contacts.
  • Strong analytical skills. Strong communication, presentation, writing, and negotiations skills. Strong abstraction, organization and simplification skills.
  • Detailed understanding of business processes.
  • Chinese Contract Manufacturing domain knowledge.
  • Experience defining Use Cases.
  • Knowledge of UML concepts.
  • Skilled at identifying exception conditions.
  • Strong PC skills and knowledge of business applications such as: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Exchange, Visio, process flowcharting software and ERP Applications functionality.
  • Must possess integrated supply chain business knowledge, superior negotiation skills, facilitation, presentation, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work alone or in teams of peer and superiors.
  • Must speak one-on-one and lead small teams and/or large groups of co-workers, senior management, customers or vendors.
  • Ability to make definitive and discerning decisions based upon consequential organizational requirements and represents them with proof throughout discussions and group decision making.
  • Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Ability: 5+ years with experience working in a global high tech manufacturing environment, 5+ years experience with MPS tools (Oracle, I2, SAP, Dynamics AX or other), 5+ years experience with managing business metrics and supply chain optimization, 5+ years experience with production planning and procurement, 3+ years experience dealing directly with contract manufacturers in China/Asia and 3+ years experience working with BPM/BPE.
  • Optional Knowledge/Skills/Ability: MS Dynamics AX, and process modeling software and methodologies.
